"Future Smarts 2001" CD-ROMFAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)Click here to order (Adobe AcrobatTM document).1. What does this CD-ROM include? The CD contains an Adobe AcrobatTM file that includes most of the slides, speech texts and transcripts of the onstage interviews. Some of the material has been edited for clarity or length, but all of it follows the essence of what was presented at the December 10, 2001 "Future Smarts" conference. 2. What is the document format? The CD-ROM's main document, FS_2001.PDF, is an Adobe AcrobatTM document. You need to have the Acrobat ReaderTM installed on your computer in order to read the document. The reader software is free and available at www.adobe.com. We also included the latest version (as of December 2001) for Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000 on the CD-ROM. 3. OK, I received the CD-ROM in the mail. Now what do I do? First, you need to put the CD-ROM in your computer's CD drive. In Windows environments, click on "My Computer" and then on CD drive icon. The CD drive icon should now display the name "FUTSMRTS." Double-click on this icon to open a window displaying the disc's contents. You should see some documents and a folder or directory called "Acroread." Read the file READ-1ST.TXT before you do anything else. Next, if you need to install the Adobe AcrobatTM Reader software, open the Acroread folder and run the installer program inside. (Note: many computers already have that software installed.) Once the Adobe AcrobatTM Reader is installed – or immediately if it is already installed – you can open the file FS_2001.PDF, which is the "Future Smarts" document. NOTE: you may want to ask your IT department, if your company has one, if you already have the Adobe AcrobatTM Reader installed on your computer. 4. What if I have problems with the Adobe AcrobatTM Reader? You need to address these issues with Adobe Systems Inc. (www.adobe.com). Beverage Digest does not provide any software support for the Adobe AcrobatTM Reader. 5. Can I search the document? Yes. The Adobe AcrobatTM document is searchable, using the FIND function (CONTROL-F or Find off the EDIT menu) in the Adobe AcrobatTM Reader.
