Ken Wegner is President of The Jel Sert Company and its wholly owned subsidiary, 21 Holdings LLC, located in West Chicago, Illinois. Wegner’s grandparents founded the company in 1926, and for nearly a century it has been at the forefront of innovation in the food and beverage industry, with an evolving portfolio of items ranging from drink mixes to dessert mixes to freezer pops.
Wegner started at The Jel Sert Company as the Director of Purchasing in 1985, and became President in 1997. Guided by the legacy of his grandparents and his father, Wegner has continued their mission of making high-quality, high-value food and beverage products that help families and friends create lasting memories.
The Jel Sert Company’s family of beloved brands includes Otter Pops, Fla-Vor-Ice, Pop-Ice, Kool Pops, Wyler’s Light, Flavor-Aid, Super C, Royal, My-T-Fine, All Sport and Pure Kick. Under Wegner’s guidance, The Jel Sert Company has emerged as a leading contract manufacturer for many of the largest nutrition and sports nutrition companies in the world, including Abbott Nutrition.
Wegner has a BA in Economics and Spanish from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He is Chairman of the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, a board member at the Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, Chairman of the American Childhood Cancer Organization Board, and a member of YPO Gold.
