LA Libations, which describes itself as a “beverage creator, incubator, and accelerator,” has acquired a “significant stake” in Hi-Touch Distribution, the companies announced. Hi-Touch is a Southern California-based natural foods direct store delivery company. The combined entity, to be called HiTouch Libations, will “fill a route-to-market gap for emerging brands,” the companies said in statement.
Molson Coors and La Colombe Coffee Roasters have agreed to end a distribution agreement at the end of March 2023. La Colombe is looking to combine distribution of its ready-to-drink products with its bagged coffees and multi-serve cold brew coffee packages, which would create “significant logistical challenges” for Molson Coors-aligned distributors, Molson Coors wrote in a blog post. Separately, Molson Coors and JV partner Hexo have “agreed to unwind their Truss USA joint-venture and exit the CBD beverage business in the United States effective Dec. 31,” according to the same blog post.
BioSteel has agreed to purchase a Verona, California production facility from carton water brand Flow Beverage for $19.5 million. BioSteel will produce its own sports drinks, also sold in cartons, and Flow products. Flow is looking to improve its balance sheet and focus spending on sales and marketing. BioSteel wants more control of its supply chain.
Westrock Coffee has acquired Kohana Coffee, an extract and ready-to-drink coffee brand owned by father-son team Jonathan Reinemund and former PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Steve Reinemund.
Harvest Hill Beverage subsidiary American Beverage has acquired children’s pouched lemonade brand Poppilu.
