Bottler Coca-Cola Consolidated has acquired franchise distribution rights from Coca-Cola Bottling of Washington, NC. The deal includes Dr Pepper products. The company’s roots date to 1910, according to former owner Braxton B. Dawson, Jr, who was president and CEO. Charlotte, NC-based Coke Consolidated is led by Chairman and CEO J. Frank Harrison, III. Swire Coca-Cola, USA, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, Durango Coca-Cola, and Deming Coca-Cola have picked up distribution rights for BodyArmor in Arizona and parts of New Mexico following Coca-Cola’s full acquisition of the company late last year. The distribution transitions on April 1. The rights are currently held by Kalil Bottling. Separately, Liberty Coca-Cola has taken over BodyArmor distribution in portions of the Northeast including metro New York from distributors Big Geyser and Honickman.
Activist Investor Nelson Peltz and his Trian Fund Management have taken an undisclosed stake in Unilever, according to the Financial Times. Seven years ago, Peltz used a stake in PepsiCo for an unsuccessful lobbying effort to split the company’s snack and beverages businesses.
Nestle Health Science has agreed to acquire a majority stake in plant-based nutrition shake maker Orgain.
