New Sweetener System for Vitaminwater Zero Sugar. Smartwater Alkaline to Add Antioxidants.
Here is a quick first look at innovation being shown by Coca-Cola at the NACS convention for convenience store operators, which began yesterday in Las Vegas. The event’s products expo began today. That’s where brands show off new products to retail buyers ahead of store resets early next year. BD is at the event and here is what we’ve gathered so far (more details and products to come):
COSTA COFFEE. Coca-Cola’s Costa Coffee brand will bring its first ready-to-drink offering to the US. Costa Flat White combines coffee and milk in an 11-oz can. Flavors will be signature blend, mocha, and caramel. The drinks contain 85g of caffeine, have about 20g of sugar, and contain 140 to 150 calories per can. The drink will retail for $3.29.
DUNKIN’ RTD. Coca-Cola’s Dunkin’ canned iced coffee line will add a “Bakery Series” with flavors Brownie Batter Donut, Cake Batter Donut, and Coffee Cake Muffin.
POWERADE RELAUNCH. Now under the same management as BodyArmor, Powerade will be relaunched in early 2023 with a new formula that includes 50% more electrolytes than Gatorade, and an updated visual identity. The upgrades include Powerade Zero Sugar.
SMARTWATER ADDS ANTIOXIDANTS. The brand will add an antioxidant variant to its alkaline extension. Launches in March 2023.
NEW VITAMINWATER SWEETENER. Also in March, Vitaminwater will launch a new sweetener system for its zero sugar variant that blends monk fruit and stevia. The product’s sweetener system currently includes erythritol and stevia. The zero sugar lines will two add flavors called Forever You (coconut lime), and With Love (raspberry dark chocolate).
FANTA REFORMULATION/NEW SPRITE LYMONADE FLAVOR. Next year, Fanta will introduce a new “bolder” formula for its regular and Zero Sugar orange flavors. The launch will include a new visual identity. Sprite, meanwhile, will launch a summer limited time offering called Sprite Lymonade Strawberry.
