Retail Survey: Promotions During Easter Holiday Sales Period

The COVID-19 disruption extended through last week’s important Easter holiday sales period. Large family gatherings and community egg hunts were shut down across the country. The holiday also came on the heels of a month of extreme grocery stock-up in April. BD took a look at supermarket promotions covering the holiday period. The following deals were culled from promotional circulars published by major grocery chains in six major US metropolitan areas:

 

Atlanta; Publix. (Promotional period: April 1-11)

Coca-Cola 12-pack of 12-oz cans or 8-pack of 12-oz bottles at 3 for $12, referred to as “surprisingly low price.”

Pepsi 8-packs of 12-oz bottles or 6-packs of 16.9-oz bottles at buy 1, get 1 free (no price shown).

Fairlife Ultra-Filtered Milk in 52-oz bottle at 2 for $7.

Deer Park Natural Spring Water in 24-packs of 16.9-oz bottles at 2 for $7.

 

Chicago; Jewel-Osco (April 8-14)

Coke, Pepsi, Sprite and Mtn Dew 12-packs of 12-oz cans, and 8-packs of 12-oz bottles for $2.99.

Pepsi, Mtn Dew, 7Up and Dr Pepper 6-pack of 16.9-oz bottles for $2.99.
